NEET Reservation Criteria 2021: 

NTA breaks down the Government of India's NEET reservation requirements by category for the year 2021. MCC will conduct NEET counseling in 2021 for the 15% All India Quota seats. As a result, individuals with NEET 2021 scores can apply for MBBS/BDS programs. On the other hand, the remaining 85 percent of MBBS/BDS seats will be filled through the State counseling process. It is done in accordance with the various NEET Counselling committees of the state government.

10% of seats are earmarked for GEN-EWS applicants, according to government regulation. If a general candidate's family's annual income is less than Rs. 8 lakh, they will be classified as EWS pupils.

• There is a 15% reservation for student counseling. MCI/NMC/DCI Statutory Regulations, as well as rulings of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, would be used to determine All India Quota seats.

• Aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir will be unable to apply for 15 percent AQI seats because the union territories are not included in the All India Scheme. Students must fill out a self-declaration form to claim eligibility. Q

• Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir applicants, on the other hand, are not eligible for the 15% all-India quota seats.

NEET Reservation Criteria under 15% AIQ Seats

The All-India Quota accounts for 15% of all seats available on a national basis. The All-India Quota account, for example, comprises government, private, and central colleges and universities. As a result, students from any state in the country are eligible to apply for admission to any medical school with less than 15% AIQ seats.

Seats at Central Universities and Institutions will be reserved for GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD applicants depending on reservation criteria. The percentages of seats reserved for various categories are listed below:

NEET Reservation for EWS Category

Educational institutions have offered NEET Reservation for General-EWS category of 10% seats following the passing of a bill for income-based reservations in the Lok Sabha. The following are the reservation criteria for NEET 2021 in order to be eligible for EWS:

• A family's annual gross income must be less than Rs. 8 lakh;

• A family's agricultural land must be less than 5 acres;

• A family's residential flat must be less than 1000 sq ft;

• If the family owns a residential plot of less than 100 square yards (notified municipalities);

• If the family owns a residential plot of less than 200 square yards (notified municipalities); (unnotified municipalities)

Candidates who do not fall into the SCs, STs, or OBCs quota categories and have a family income of less than Rs. 8 lakhs per year are eligible for the EWS reservation. Candidates who get a "Income and Asset Certificate" from any respected institute, for example, can receive EWS reservation benefits. Students in the general category will also be given NEET Reservation as a result of this.

NEET Reservation Criteria for PwD under AIQ:

• Candidates with any sort of locomotor handicap are eligible to participate in this reservation process.

• Physically Handicapped Candidates are allotted 5% of the seats in the All-India Quota. Their percentage disability lowers by 40% or more for seats allocated via this approach.

• As a result of the candidates' unavailability, the remaining vacant seats will be included in the Annual Sanctioned Seats.

• PWD candidates should have their Certificate of Disability on hand when applying for this quota.

• Candidates who are disabled need obtain a disability certificate from one of the following colleges:

Reservation under 85% State Quota Seats:

• The remaining 85 percent of seats in all private and government medical colleges are covered by the NEET State Quota. As a result, state/union territories conduct their own counseling under their own authority.

• On the other side, the state authority releases a merit list. State-level quota seats are filled through counseling and merit lists at the state level. Candidates can find out about the dates and procedures by contacting their state counseling authority.

• For admission through the state quota, the eligibility criteria and reservation policy in effect in the state or union territory where the student seeks admission will apply.

• NOTE: Because AFMC, Pune has its own reservation policy, there are no exemptions for Physically Handicapped candidates. Those who wish to apply to AFMC should do so via their official website. Applicants must register on their official website for further screening assessments. They have their own selection technique, and NEET is just the first stage. If you pass NEET, you are not guaranteed admission to AFMC, Pune.

NEET Reservation for AIQ Seats:

• The 15% All India Quota Seats are open to Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals. To be considered for admission via AIQ, candidates must complete MCC's Online Counseling for NEET.

• There will be counseling rounds, and if any AIQ seats remain unfilled after all of the rounds, they will be converted to State Quota seats.

• There will be an equal number of candidates on the merit list as there are available AIQ seats.

• Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would no longer be required to fill out a self-declaration form in order to participate in the 15% All India Quota Counseling.

Reservation for UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Candidates

* Candidates from J&K and Ladakh are not eligible for the 15% AIQ seats because they chose not to participate in the All-India Scheme. To apply for AIQ seat counselling, candidates must first complete an online self-declaration.

Quota for Children of COVID-19 warriors:

The Central Government has agreed to set aside five MBBS seats for COVID-19 warriors' children from the central pool. The Union Health Ministry has added a new category called Wards of COVID Warriors to the regulations for shortlisting applicants for central pool MBBS seats. The DGHS has informed five medical institutions throughout India to reserve one UG course seat under the 'Children of COVID-19 Warriors' category.

7.5% Quota to TN Government Schools:

• According to recent sources, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet has allowed a 7.5 percent quota in TN state medical institutions for government school students who pass the NEET exam. This 7.5 percent quota will be a quota within a quota, as it will be part of the existing reserve.

•The decision was made because the number of students accepted into government-sponsored MBBS programmes in Tennessee has been declining year after year.

•Children who finished their schooling (Classes 6 to 12) in a Tamil Nadu government school, on the other hand, will be given preference.

•The state has been working to align its state board's curriculum with the CBSE's. The state has also taken initiatives to provide free medical consultation in order to help students prepare for the NEET.

Quota in NEET for Victims of Terror Attack:

Spouses and children of terror attack victims are eligible for a quota in MBBS and BDS courses after completing the NEET. Under the central pool of chairs, these seats are reserved for medical admissions. NEET scores will be used to choose candidates.

ELIGIBILITY OF QUOTA:

• Children who are or have been exposed to terrorism, or who are on a terrorist organization's target list, or children who are members of a family of Kashmiri Migrants who have lost their livelihood, are all eligible for the central pool of MBBS and BDS seats.

• Children whose parent or a direct family member has been killed in an act of terrorism or an innocent victim of armed forces gunfire while dealing with terrorism are eligible for this quota in the UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

NOTE:

• In the All India Quota, there is no reservation for Defence Quota candidates. Certain states may, however, have a reserve under NEET's Defence Quota. Candidates can contact their state counseling authority for more information.

• Candidates should check if they are eligible for reservations under the All India quota and state quota seats before applying.

• Candidates should be informed that Deemed Universities are in charge of their own admissions counseling.

• Although AIQ does not have a management quota, private institutions may reserve a few seats for that group. Contact the relevant institute for more information.
